I love it when providers of chocolate making courses give the pertinent information up front. Lick The Spoon offer workshops in Corsham, Wiltshire for School visits as well as hen parties. During these lessons you’ll get to use the same equipment the professionals use every day as well as make chocolate from quality single origin couvertures (basically pre-made chocolate that chocolatiers use to form truffles, flavoured bars, etc.)

Lick The Spoon have a number of options when it comes to the actual style of day workshop. You can choose from:

  • Private Parties – suitable for hen parties, children’s birthday parties or other types of celebrations. They run for between 2.5 and 3hrs and can cater for between 8 and 16 people at a cost of £46 each.
  • Introduction to Fine Chocolate – this runs for three hours and is suitable for eight people (I there may be a touch of flexibility on that number – I think). This will give you the skills to make chocolates at home which you can give to friends and family for birthday or Christmas presents. It’s suitable for people that haven’t worked with chocolate before. This costs £77.
  • The Business of Chocolate – this is a courses that lasts for a full day and offers information for people that wish to start their own business or sell them regularly to third parties.
  • School Workshops – these 1 to 2.5 hour sessions are designed to cater for large groups of pupils (12 -24) at primary, secondary or college ages.

You can book these courses online, but they do seem a bit out of date.
